Fed:Wages increasing, but not at an alarming rate

Wages are still growing at a solid pace due to a tight labour market .. but not at
a rate that'd alarm the Reserve Bank into another imminent interest rate rise.

The latest labour price index shows quarterly wages grew by a seasonally adjusted 1.1
per cent in the June quarter.

This saw the annual rate of wages at four per cent in the year to June .. comfortably
below the Reserve Bank's line in the sand .. at 4.5 per cent.

Economists had expected a quarterly increase of one per cent.
